Creating Positive Change

"With the guidance and wonderful Pivotal Movement team, over twenty of my students have experienced lessons that went beyond what I can teach in the classroom. They have grown as individuals, which has positively impacted relationships, accountability, and mindset." - Jeanne Cline, Resource Teacher at Custer County District High School

Space is Limited

Riding for Emotional Growth

Riding for Emotional Growth is not about equitation, horse shows, or year end points. It’s about metaphorical learning, using activities with horses – on the ground or in the saddle – to promote awareness and then relate that learning to life beyond the barn. Our goal is to teach communication, trust, responsibility, partnership, and empathy. Within the philosophy of our riding program, the outward expression of these principles is a responsible, considerate equestrian who rides with grace, balance, and sensitivity.

  • Effective for clients with or without a mental health diagnoses
  • Clients work with an equine specialist and one horse in each session
  • Most sessions are in the saddle. Clients do ride the majority of the time
  • Sessions last approximately 1.5 hours
  • Cost per session is $80.00/private or $45.00/person for group sessions
  • Insurance typically does not cover these sessions
